Fragmental Breccia

Mainmass of Dho 910

Tkw 142g

This meteorite, a socalled fragmental moon-breccia, represents together with the paired findings Dho 081 and 280 the latest moonmeteoritefall in Oman.
It has a very well preserved dark olivine-greenish meltingcrust, which is typical for lunar highlandmeteorites.
In the cut there are numerous white and greyish anorthiteclasts in a bubblerich, greyblack matrix.
The bright clasts are fragments of the original lunar highlandcrust, while the black matrix is a very gasrich(bubble) melt of the same material.
It is a prototypical sample of a very fresh moonmeteorite.
Comparison with other finds let us conclude, that it fell just a couple of hundred years ago!
